I thought I posted last time. What happened to it???
I enjoyed the last class. Arriving on time has many advantages! Will we learn how to create our own wikis? (Or did I miss that?) I miss some things even when I'm in class!!!
Will we meet tomorrow?
Guest(313 - days ago)Page: Communication2
Good class. I worked hard and think that I may be able to use this again on my own!!! Thanks!

I felt bad when Fred died, but I enjoyed working with Jim. Very informative lesson. I will be thinking about constructivism will planning my geometry lesson.
Guest(376 - days ago)Page: Fryeburg PD
May I work with Meg next week. I got some good websites. Dont give the periodic table to Mary.
Guest(376 - days ago)Page: constructivism
I like the comparison between traditional and constructivism. It is a little
complicated to me but interesting,thanks.
Valerie(376 - days ago)Page: constructivism
Olga,
Sorry I was late. I don't think that I can comment on the class today, since I missed at least half of it! ( I had a student with some very bad behavior!)
Thanks for your patience,
Valerie
Guest(376 - days ago)Page: constructivism
Lots of good info today. Very helpful to see how I can restructure some of my lessons to fit the constructivism models.

Sorry I was late, again! I'm afraid I will always be.
I enjoyed today's class. There was a lot of time for exploring and working on skills.
Thanks.
Valerie W.(404 - days ago)Page: Internet Resources
I need more time to explore. I had started a Portaportal sight at the district technology workshop and haven't been back there until today! I needed to ask some more questions, as refreshers, but again didn't have enough time!
I'm not sure how to solve that.
Thanks for your time.
Guest(404 - days ago)Page: Fryeburg PD
Thank you...each time there is so much to learn..and it does make it easier...will be anxious for what there is to learn next class!
Guest(404 - days ago)Page: Internet Resources
It is interesting how we can easily get lost of what the authors said. Thank you again.

Nice class today...fun & informative activities.

Frustration is good! It means that you are involved and are trying to solve a problem. Don't shrug it off as annoying or treat it as obstacle. A lot of things I will be asking you to do, CAN be done! Work your frustration into problem-solving, ask your colleagues (I greatly appreciate the help of the more advanced students! It is part of life, and it is part of this course, and you are a very important part of this emerging community!) and me and use the handouts - they have been designed to be very helpful.
And most importantly, this is NOT a computer literacy class, nor is it an advanced computer skills class, if you thought so, I apologize for not making this clear. This is a technology INTEGRATION class focusing on ways to enhance your classroom strategies by using technology and the constructivist approach. Hope this helps!
I appreciate everyone's comments and your contribution!
If you start feeling frustrated - slow down! Things often take time, so don't compete with others, focus on the progress you are making compared to your own level of comfort with technology, and remember it's about integration, not knowing where that button is, and it takes much more than a tech-savvy person to make a good classroom. I am a techie - yet, I guarantee you do a better job in your classroom than I would right now! Think positively! :)
For those who felt shy, please feel free to participate more next time we meet! Looking forward to our next meeting!
Guest(432 - days ago)Page: Transforming
It was interesting to grapple with the tech spectrum. I was able to clearly designate between the three different levels of tech uses, yet I can barely function at the orange level. Please be mindful of the frustration levels with beginning tech learners. I think it would be helpful to review our comfort levels with tech and pair beginners with more experienced people. When someone is "green" the obvious does not always appear obvious. Thanks- :)
Guest(432 - days ago)Page: Transforming
Okay...this is going to be a good one ...as in the begining I'm a turtle and will continue to move so until I'm totally comfortalble and confident...and I know you will aid me in this process. See you on the 15th.

I would like to thank you as our instructor. I would like to learn more and looking forward for the next class.
Valerie W.(432 - days ago)Page: Transforming
I need the skills necessary for doing the scavenger hunt, so think I need to focus more time on skill development. I do, however, see the need to re-think the way I view and use technology for the benefit of my students and myself. Thanks.
Guest(432 - days ago)Page: Fryeburg PD
Thank you very much. I learned a few new button tricks today! YIPPEE!
lola(432 - days ago)Page: Transforming
With such a wide range of skill-levels in this class, is there a way that those of use who know a lot of the basics can be given tasks that don't seem to be a good use of our time?
Guest(432 - days ago)Page: Fryeburg PD
I am looking forward to learning some new aspects of computer technology.

Now it makes sense that changing the screen background would be in system preferences!
I liked the sticker activity.
Guest(432 - days ago)Page: Transforming
I can relate to the students who get frustrated.
Guest(432 - days ago)Page: Transforming
I was thankful to have a fellow student work with me who know more than I . I would not have kept up without her directions.
Guest(432 - days ago)Page: Transforming
Perhaps we could create groups to allow those members of the class who need more basic support to learn necessary skills and those who are more advanced to explore more in depth topics.
